The Changelo app collects no data at all. This website collects anonymous visit statistics. Both are explained below.
Data we collect
None. The Changelo app does not collect, transmit, store or share any personal data or usage data.
The app has no user accounts, no sign-in, no telemetry and no analytics of any kind. No third-party SDKs, advertising frameworks or tracking libraries are included.
Your files
The files and folders you compare are read only on your device, only while a comparison is running, and only after you explicitly select them (or hand them to the app through Finder's Open With or the Share sheet).
Changelo never uploads, copies to a server, or otherwise transmits your files or their contents. It has no network access.
Data stored on your device
The app stores a small amount of data locally so it can work: your settings (such as the interface language and whether the intro is shown), a list of recently compared items, and a temporary cache of intermediate results to make repeated comparisons faster.
This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app. The cache lives in the system Caches directory and may be cleared by the operating system at any time.
Reports you export
When you export a comparison report or save a .changelo document, the file is written where you choose. Changelo does not send it anywhere. What happens to it afterwards is entirely up to you.
Encryption
Changelo does not use or contain any encryption. Files are processed as they are, entirely on your device.
This website
The app and this website are separate things. The app has no network access at all and never talks to this site. The site itself, like most websites, measures its audience with Yandex Metrica: which pages are opened, the link you arrived from, clicks on the page, and general information about your browser, device and approximate region. Cookies are used to tell a returning visitor from a new one.
This tells us which pages people actually read and in which languages. It is not connected to anything you do inside the app. You can opt out with your browser's settings, a content blocker, or Yandex Metrica's own opt-out page — none of that affects the app.
Children
Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Since the app collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes.
